Any nickname/s you would like to share with us? I went by "Mona" my entire childhood & some still call me that! Most recent nickname has become "Chola"!
Current place of employment: Main job is home with my kids but I do work 2 nights a week at the VFW in McHenry bartening! Come have a drink sometime!
How long have you been CrossFitting for? 3 years in July! Wow does time fly!
How many days a week do you CrossFit? 5-6x/week
Biggest CrossFit Accomplishment? Most recent was bar muscle-ups but honestly every accomplishment feels like a big one!
Favorite CrossFit exercise/skill to do: I like them all in small reps, but I would probably go with pull-ups & push-ups as my favorite maybe even box jumps!
Least favorite CrossFit exercise/skill to do: That stupid assault bike gets me every time! Wall Balls & I don't get along to well either!
Top Short Term Goal: Beat last year's mile time! I would love to get it done in under 6:45!
Top Long Term Goal: Ring muscle-ups....I should probably start practicing!
Favorite time to work out each day: I like 4:30pm but it works better for me to hit the 9:15
Favorite WOD Music: 90's I can sing along with to distract my mind
Favorite Healthy food: Avoacado! Anything with avocado in it!
Favorite Cheat food: I love all unhealthy food but my guilty pleasure would have to be Big Mac's from McDonald's!
If you could have any super power what would it be? To read minds! I would love to know what people are thinking!
If you could describe CrossFit in only 3 words, what would they be? Addicting, Challenging, & Fun
In 10 years where do you hope to be? Good question....That's too far for me to think about! Definitely still working out!
Who is/are your biggest CrossFit Supporter/s? If you were trapped on a desert island what 3 things would you bring with you assuming that water, food, & shelter were already provided for? MYA! My little cheerleader is always yelling encouraging comments when she is in the gym & I am WOD'ing! It's so cute! Lol, John for sure, he may not attend Prevail but he listens to me talk about my workouts & my accomplishments all the time with compliments & encouraging words!
What is the first word that comes to mind when you hear:

Beach: Sun bathing!

What is your favorite thing/s about CrossFit Prevail? The Coaches! I love how they are so willing to help me learn & improve! And how genuinely happy they are to see Athletes succeed! I love the people that have come into my life because I joined Prevail!
If there was a 'Monica WOD' what would it have in it? 400 meter runs, 24" box jumps, pull-ups, & KB swings
Any tips for a newbie? Everyone feels incredibly dumb when they start, nothing feels normal & everyone feels like everyone is watching & judging them! None of those feelings or thoughts are anywhere near what's really going on! We have all been there! Just keep coming back for more & before you know it everything will feel normal! You will succeed if you keep coming back!
